The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced list of candidates contesting in its elections slated for September 27 in Tamale.

 


According to the list, former Ghana FA Vice President, George Afriyie will contest the incumbent Kurt Okraku for the GFA Presidential seat for the second time after battling it out in October, 2019.

Okraku is seeking for re-election as the GFA with his four-year mandate coming to an end next month.

For the Executive Council, seventeen renowned football administrators have filed for nomination to contest for the eleven slots available.

Only eleven football administrators will be elected onto the GFA Exco

The GFA Exco will comprise of five representatives from the Premier League, three from the Division One, two from the regional football associations and a representative from the Women’s League.

The current Vice President of the GFA, Mark Addo is seeking re-election onto the Council alongside Samuel Anim Addo, Nana Oduro Sarfo, Frederick Acheampong, Tony Augbyn, Randy Abbey and Kingsley Osei Bonsu.

Former Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah who is currently the technical director for Asante Kotoko will also contest for a slot onto the Executive Council alongside Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Akanbi.

The aspirants will undergo vetting before the Elections Committee of the GFA announce the final list of candidates for the elections in Tamale.

Former Tamale City forward Sampson Eduku  has join Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on a one-year deal.

The player scored 14 goals in 27 games in the for Tamale City in the betPawa Ghana Premier League last season. 

Sampson Eduku few weeks ago in an interview said I will go to the club that offers me more money.

Coach James Kwasi Appiah has officially Filed to Contest for Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association.


Former Black Stars Coach James Akwesi Appiah who is now a Member of Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC) filed in the ticket of Asante Kotoko to the football decision body in the Ghana Football Association (GFA).


Coach James Kwasi Appiah has officially filed to contest for a Premier league slot on the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association.

No Ghanaian Artiste, Including Himself, can be Compared to Nigerian Artistes like Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid Now- Shatta Wale



 Ghanaian dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah-Mensah popular known as Shatta Wale has said that no Ghanaian artiste, including himself, can be compared to the current status of Nigerian artistes like Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.

Shatta Wale in an interview with Takoradi-based Empire FM, saying that Nigerian artists are more successful because they receive more support from their kinsmen.

“That is why the Nigerian artistes are moving faster than us… Davido came to Ghana and drove straight to my house, Burna Boy came to Ghana and I stayed with him for one and a half years. Don’t they see that? This is a guy that could have taken up first before these boys go? Now see where Burna boy, Davido and Wizkid are, we can compare no single artiste including me to them, just because we don’t want the growth of our artistes.”

Abednego Tetteh they plan to kick me out of Hearts of Oak



Former Hearts Of Oak Forward who played for Samartex FC 1996 Abednego Tetteh and the top score of betPawa Premier League ended last 2022/23 Season.

 They plot to kicked me out from Hearts of Oak and it worked for them
